Práce v gastroenterologii na IV. interní klinice 1. LF UK, endoskopie a ambulance, léčba objemné litiázy v choledochu a pankreatu pro řadu pracovišť z okolí.

Od roku 1991 řešitel postupně pěti grantů. Během výzkumu se podařilo dokončit a patentovat zcela nový generátor rázové vlny vytvářené mnohakanálovým výbojem ve vodě.

Education

• 1982 graduated in physics (Faculty mathematics and Physics)
• 1984 graduated in medicine (Faculty of medicine Charles University)

• 1999 postgraduate Ph.D. study (Ph.D. thesis: “Application shock wave lithotripsy in gastroenterology”)

After final examination at the secondary grammar school (1976) specialized in natural science, I studied biophysics at Faculty of Mathematic and Physics in Charles University in Prague. As a student of this faculty, I applied for admission at the Faculty of Medicine. After taking my degree in physics, I graduated also in medicine with honors in 1984.

Since 1984 I was working as a research assistant at the First Department of Medicine and from year 2000 I am working at the gastroenterology center of 4th Department of Medicine Charles University in Prague. In 1987 I passed examination for the first and in 1992 for second degree attestation (internal medicine). In 1999 I passed examination from gastroenterology. In the same year I defended Ph.D. thesis (Application shock wave lithotripsy in gastroenterology) from internal medicine.

I am engaged in research into the medical application of shock waves. I initiated the research development of new shock wave appliances and conducted biological experiment allowing their use in clinical practice.

Presently I engaged in problems of lithotripsis in the treatment of kidney stones and gallstones, deals with testing side-effects of shock waves and studies the prospects of their use in the therapy of cancer and oncological diseases. My research results are published regularly in scientific periodical journals and at intarnational congresses concerning problems of shockwave therapy all over the world. I have 35 citations (SCI) from international journals related to field of shock wave lithotripsy and gastroenterology. Till nowdays I have taken part in tree clinical studies on the theme IBS and IBD (Crohn disease).
